The Next Generation Of Intel and AMD CPUs - Kryptronix

It is 2022 and we are witnessing a miraculous change in the world, and that miraculous change is called ‘Digitisation’. Ever since the world has caught up with technology, its growth has been unprecedented. Do you know what else is unprecedented? The growth of multinational technology companies!

Yes, today we are here to talk about two such multinational tech giants that are ruling the industry with their legacy and growing each day with a new innovative ideology. Intel and AMD have been in the market for a long while now and still continue to bring something new to the table every day! How do they do it? What is the next in line CPUS?

These two tech giants have built a legacy that is here to stay until CPUs exist. So, today we take a look at the next generation CPUs that these two technology companies are banking on:

Intel :

CPUs made by intel have always been the first choice of many consumers around the world. Today, Intel’s dominance in the CPU industry has somehow lessened because of the entry of players like Apple and AMD.

Recently at CES 2022, Intel announced that it will be coming out with its 13th generation CPU by the end of this year. Intel also went on to release 22 new processors across its entire processor family tree. Currently, it is running with its 12th generation hybrid core processors for 12th gen desktops which have set a benchmark of being efficient.

What is next in Line for Intel?

CPU

  • 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake CPU – This machine is rumoured to have clock speed 6MHZ. This particular CPU will essentially be the next in line after Intel’s Alder Lake CPUs that are dominating the CPU industry right now.

Specifications :

  • The Intel Raptor Lake model is set to introduce smoother performance with an uplifted 10nm design.
  • This chip is fully equipped with a strong 24-core processor with 32-threads.
  • Another special thing about this chip is that it will also feature 16 efficient cores. This means it will have twice as many small cores as the current Alder Lake chips.
  • Core i9-13900K is the next big upgrade from its predecessor – Intel Core i9-12900K
  • The Intel Raptor can be overclocked to 8 MHZ and be run at 6 MHZ.

AMD :

AMD is a technology company that initially manufactured its own processors and later started outsourcing its manufacturing. Their primary products include CPUs, motherboard chipsets, embedded processors, graphics processors, and FPGAs for servers, workstations, personal computers, and other embedded system applications.

If rumours are to be believed, the next-generation AMD Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” processors have already been announced and will be released this September. Currently, AMD has a line of 5000 Gen CPUs that includes AM4 PGA sockets, a special motherboard, and high cache memory and is known to support all AMD processors so far.

What is next in Line for AMD?

CPU

  • AMD Ryzen 7000 Gen CPU – This CPU comes with an LGA (AM4) socket type with a clock speed of 5 MHZ. Comparatively, AMD’s CPU’s performance is said to be per watt more than that of Intel’s. AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU is promising significantly better performance compared to its current generation processors. In addition to higher clock speeds and cutting-edge specs, Zen 4 chips will boast a few new features too after AMD introduced AM5 motherboards.

Specifications :

  • AMD Ryzen 7000 series will support DDR5 gaming RAM and PCle 5.0 interface. This will keep them in the race for becoming the best gaming CPU available.
  • This will come without a stock cooler and will not be compatible to DDR4 gaming RAM.
  • The Zen 4 will be available with the option of up to 16 cores and 32 threads.
  • It will have a base clock speed of 4.7 MHZ and can go up to 5.7 MHZ.
  • The TDP options given by the chip manufacturer can go up to 170 watts.
  • The X670E chipset will be available on the best motherboards for Ryzen 7000 processors.
  • This processor will include 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, 14 USB ports including 20Gbps and Type-C, WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, in addition to up to four DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 ports.
